The Heritage Campaign, the first-ever major capital funds drive, will kick off a two-year effort to secure the future growth of the Methodist Homes for the Aging.

"As we stand at the beginning of the new Century, we are challenged by the greatest need for senior health care in the history of our region," said Raymond L. Roton, Chairman of the Board of Methodist Homes for the Aging.

"Our organization continues to take the leadership role in providing for God's Older Children. The Heritage Campaign will help us meet the growing needs of Senior Living in Alabama and Northwest Florida. We cannot grow without the much-needed capital to build new facilities, and maintaining State-Of-The-Art health care."

The campaign will be in three phases, with major gifts sought first for building projects in Birmingham, Pensacola and Mobile. Additional funds will add new security and service features to special needs wings of existing Methodist homes in Auburn, Montgomery, Birmingham and Dothan.

A.Wray Tomlin, the CEO of Methodist Homes, believes the campaign will enjoy great success. "We know there is much work to do. We feel assured that friends of Methodist Homes will be as supportive of this campaign as they have of our residents through the years."

The nonprofit corporation presently serves more than 1800 residents in 12 locations throughout Alabama and Northwest Florida. Expansion plans include new facilities in Northeast Alabama, the Florida Panhandle and the Mobile areas.

Jim Turner, MHA's Director of Development is directing the fund raising effort. You may contact him by e-mail, jturner@methodist-homes.org or by calling him at 205-951-2442.
