Change is in the air for Methodist Homes’ two oldest facilities, Fair Haven in Birmingham and Wesley Manor in Dothan.
Fair Haven celebrated its 45th Birthday on Oct. 12th and much of that original 1961 structure still remains. Now serving more than 330 residents, Fair Haven’s Health Care Area is undergoing an overhaul which will serve to meet modern standards of functionality and aesthetics which Methodist Homes’ residents deserve.
Wesley Manor’s 38-year-old covered entryway was already scheduled for re-design, thanks to the generous Estate gift of a benefactor, Gladys Busch.
However, after beginning the much-needed renovations at Fair Haven and considering design options for the front entrance of Wesley Manor, the Board decided to venture into grander projects to meet the growing and changing needs of seniors in the 21st Century.
While the two master plans are still evolving, what remains the same is the intent of Methodist Homes to shape existing facilities to meet the demands of tomorrow’s resident as well as today’s resident.
