Where Does the Money Go?

A gift of any size can make a very big difference!  Here are just a few examples of how Methodist Homes Corporation uses your gifts to enhance the lives of our current and future residents.

The Aldersgate Foundation

The Methodist Homes Corporation Board of Trustees authorized the creation of the Aldersgate Foundation for the purpose of providing an endowment fund to benefit residents.  Only the interest from this fund is used to help residents who cannot care for themselves from their own resources.  Unrestricted gifts to the Aldersgate Foundation General Fund allow us to use the gifts where the need is greatest.

The Fountain of Love Fund

This fund was created to provide immediate financial assistance to residents who have outlived their resources, through no fault of their own.  Methodist Homes Corporation has never asked a person to leave because of exhausted financial resources.  The fund preserves the quality of life and dignity of residents.  It is administered privately, and with definitive standards for qualification.  Persons are asked to contribute their resources, and then the Fountain of Love supplements as needed.

The Jewell D. Dennison Fountain of Love Fund

This fund represents Methodist Homes Corporation’s first endowment gift benefiting the Fountain of Love Fund. Donations of any amount are welcomed to this fund.  The Jewell D. Dennison Fountain of Love Fund was established in 2007 by a generous $2 million gift from Fayette and Jewell Dennison of Pensacola.  It is named in honor of Jewell and celebrates their 65 years of marriage.  The fund provides periodic, interest-only distributions to the Fountain of Love Fund.  Donors making gifts of $25,000 or more may choose to establish their own endowment fund for the Methodist Homes.  We are hopeful that others will make contributions to this fund to help provide more assistance to our residents.
