THE HAVEN
The Haven of Our Lady of Peace is a 120-bed nursing home operated by Sacred Heart Health System and Methodist Homes Corporation. The Haven's history goes back to 1939 when a brave group of Carmelite Sisters began caring for Pensacola seniors at a home overlooking Perdido Bay.
The new Haven has 31 additional rooms and is divided into four living areas or "neighborhoods." The new design eliminates long corridors and replaces an institutional look with a more homelike atmosphere. Each room opens to a common dining and activities area, and to a central nursing station.
